KEYWORDS Copy and paste the job listing you are going to apply to into the Job Listing box below. The first read of your application by employers will be a quick scan to catch the skills, experience and other requirements that match what they are looking for in their job listing. Locate the SKILLS and other JOB REQUIREMENT KEYWORDS in the job listing and write them or copy and paste them in the Job Listing Keywords box below. If the job listing does not provide specific skill keywords, include keywords for skills that you have and will be a plus for this type of job. QUICK READ Write your application short and to the point. TAILOR IT specifically to the job you are applying for, using the KEYWORDS the employer will be looking for -- plus your WORK ATTITUDE AND PROFESSIONALISM. Everything that will get your application in the top choice list. But your application won't make the cut if poor grammar and spelling stops an employer cold. SKILLS Tell the employer how your skills and experience can work for their company. Provide all you can from YOUR EXPERIENCE, WORK AND COMPUTER SKILLS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING that fulfill the requirements asked for. CERTIFICATIONS of skills definitely make a difference -- and many skills certifications are available free (see below). Include experience, skills and qualifications not mentioned in the listing only if it's something that's related to the employer's business -- and offers the employer a plus. TRUST Introduce yourself by making the employer comfortable that your work ethic and work attitude makes you THE ONE TO TRUST to get the job done out of the office. If you have previous TELECOMMUTING EXPERIENCE, here's the place to put it, though it's not crucial that you do have it. However, here is where it helps to let employers know you are familiar with COLLABORATION TOOLS. Try the Live InterViewer and BrainWave or some of the other free or free-trial collaboration tools available below to get familiar with them. REFERENCES Provide job references for the skills and experience PERTINENT TO THE JOB. Provide work ethic and work attitude references for a non-related skill if it proves your TeleCommuting trustworthiness. TELECOMMUTER OFFICE Let employers know about your TeleCommuter Office with something like: See how well-equipped I am for the job, view my TeleCommuter Office description of my home office and equipment included in my Full Online Resume. A link to your Full Resume and TeleCommuter Office is sent to employers in all applications. SALARY GUIDE If needed, use the Free Salary Guide below to help determine the right salary to land the job. SCAN IT Enter your email address and SEND YOUR APPLICATION TO YOURSELF. Scan it like you're the employer looking for the best match for the job. Return to the Application Sharpener for any needed changes.
